The company is rumoured to be launching three new iPhones during an event on 12 September on its Californian Apple Park campus, with the largest model ditching the time-honoured "Plus" naming convention in favour of 'Max, ' according to Apple rumour site 9to5Mac.
Not only would this be the largest iPhone to date - and three inches bigger than the original 2007 iPhone - but this is even grander than Samsung's just-launched Galaxy Note9, at 6.4 inches. There will be a third model with a giant 6.5-inch OLED display.
The iPhone XS is the one that is closest in size, features and specs to last year's release. Historically, the "S" versions have focused on under-the-hood improvements with little external changes. The cheaper LCD model could also come in a number of color options. But it is going to ditch the "Plus" moniker this year.
The Cupertino company today launched a new logic board fix program for all iPhone 8 models on the market.

North Korea group suggests USA withdraw forces
Previous parades have featured missile launchers, but including them on this occasion would have been diplomatically provocative. Trump said on Friday that Kim has sent a letter to him, which he believes will be positive.
How much will they cost?
Earlier leaks by German website Macerkopf.de indicated that the 5.8-inch iPhone Xs will be priced at 909 euros (around Rs 76,000). The design for the LCD phone is expected to be more or less like the iPhone X too. The devices look very similar to the iPhone X, with glossy bodies and steel frames. The bigger 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will reportedly be called "iPhone XS Max". Past models that expand on the base variant of an iPhone have been named as the "Plus" iPhone. Sources told Macerkopf that the 256GB model would cost an additional €170 or $150. The storage also stays at 512GB, while there is no information on the battery capacity as yet.
The images also reveal that the next-in-line iPhone will continue to feature the bezel-less display and have a larger sibling featuring a 6.5-inch display while the base version will be at 5.8-inch.
Another interesting takeaway from the alleged iPhone 9 case is that it appears to have a cutout for a dual camera setup at the back, while previous reports have suggested that it will have single rear camera module. There are also reports that Apple could get rid of the 3D touch which was introduced with the iPhone 6s.
