A Florida magistrate judge has ordered the man suspected of killing rapper XXXTentacion to be held without bond on a first-degree murder charge, the Broward County prosecutor's office confirmed to USA TODAY.
Dedrick Devonshay Williams was taken into custody Wednesday (June 20) in Pompano Beach, Fla., a neighboring city south of the Deerfield Beach, where the "Look At Me" rapper was murdered. The document states two men jumped out of the passenger side of the SUV after it pulled up to the motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida, where XXXTentacion was shopping Monday. He was booked on charges including first degree murder, probation violation for theft of a auto and driving without a valid license.
Onfroy's attorney, David Bogenschutz, told investigators that prior to the shooting, the rapper visited a bank to withdraw cash.
XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, had been charged with assaulting Ayala on multiple occasions and had been awaiting trial on the charges. Williams has done zero prison time for his crimes as some of the cases were dropped. In 2014, Williams allegedly held a gun to his girlfriend's head. "He left us a final gift", Cleopatra Bernard wrote on a photo of a sonogram on Thursday, June 21, revealing that before his death, the rapper was expecting a baby.
Authorities arrested Dedrick Williams of Pompano Beach on Wednesday evening and charged him with first-degree murder.
