Wilder greeted confirmation that his fight with Joshua is about to be confirmed with this confident video posted on his social media channels.
Deontay Wilder will be sent a contract for the Anthony Joshua fight this week after the American "agreed" to a unification clash in the United Kingdom, says promoter Eddie Hearn.
Shelly Finkel, one of Wilder's co-managers, told ESPN that World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Wilder had accepted an offer by Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn for a fight in autumn. "Deontay sent an email to Joshua (Sunday) night and I sent one today to Barry Hearn and Eddie telling them that we officially accept the offer to fight under the terms they gave us and to send us the contract", Finkel added.
"It's taken him four weeks to come back to us but if he does want to fight Anthony Joshua and he does accept the deal then we want to try and get this booked in as soon as possible".
Joshua had been edging closer to fighting Alexander Povetkin, the mandatory challenger to his WBA title, after talks with Wilder's representatives had slowed in recent weeks.
"We're going to be dealing with it and we're going to be making sure he gets the relevant paperwork".
