"It's a river of lava that overflowed its banks and affected the Rodeo village".
"There are injured, burned and dead people", says National Disaster Coordinator Sergio Cabanas, adding, an undetermined number of people were missing following the violent eruption of Fuego volcano in over four decades.
It is the second time the volcano has erupted this year, setting off loud explosions and spewing ash almost four miles into the sky. Three bodies lay partially buried in ash-colored debris from the volcano, which lies about 27 miles from Guatemala City.
The volcano spewed black smoke and ash into the sky, prompting the evacuation of some 100 people and forcing the capital's La Aurora worldwide airport to shut down its only runway.
"Not everyone escaped, I think they were buried", Consuelo Hernandez said.
Guatemala's airport in the capital city has closed down while many villagers are being evacuated.
Rescue operations were suspended until 5:00 A.M. (1100 GMT) due to unsafe conditions and inclement weather, said Cecilio Chacaj, a spokesman for the municipal firefighters department. "This is an very bad place to be, if you are ever around an erupting volcano like this and you see a cloud moving along the ground towards you, RUN". Another victim was found in the streets of El Rodeo by volunteer firefighters, but the person died in an ambulance.
Facebook is turning off teens
And, Anderson noted, one of the key themes in their study was the idea that teens "felt that social media caused distraction". By comparison, during Pew's 2014-2015 survey , only 24 per cent of teens said there were online nearly constantly.
Neymar back with a bang as Brazil sink Croatia
Before Neymar's brilliant opener, Croatia might have struck first when Ante Rebic's header forced a fine save from Alisson. That applause turned to raucous cheering when the 26-year-old rifled his side ahead midway through the second half.
‘Fulham must invest to survive in Premier League’
It is a return to the Premier League for Fulham after they were relegated to the Championship in the 2013/2014 season. If Fulham can retain Sessegnon and Cairney, they will have two significant assets as they build for next season.
People flee El Rodeo village, about 35 km south of Guatemala City, after the eruption. Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales said he would issue a declaration of a state of emergency to be approved by Congress and urged people to heed warnings from emergency officials.
Ash has effected not only Guatemala City but the departments of Sacatepequez, Chimaltenango, Escuintla, and the popular tourist destination colonial town Antigua.
David de León, spokesman for the disaster agency, said about 300 people had evacuated the area around the volcano.
The conical Volcan de Fuego is 12,346 feet above sea level at its peak.
The eruption also forced the Guatemala City's La Aurora global airport to shut down its only runway.
Officials have advised citizens to wear masks due to falling ash, which has been raining down in four of Guatemala's administrative regions.
