The timing of the peak of the Spartan era, which peaked around the 6th to 4th Century BCE, doesn't exactly fit with rumors that the game will be a sequel to the ancient Egyptian "Assassin's Creed Origins", which occurred during the 1st Century BCE.
The clip shows what seems to be a Spartan-looking character kicking another solider off a cliff; an homage to Frank Miller's 300.

The Assassin's Creed series used to be on an annualized release schedule, but Ubisoft took a year off after October 2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate before launching Assassin's Creed Origins in October 2017. Now, having taken 2017 off as well, Ubisoft is back this year with Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The builds reported on didn't have the Origins protagonists Bayek or Aya present, but that doesn't mean they won't make some kind of an appearance in the game.
