Along with the quick message you see when you're taken there, a longer tribute post written by Marian Goodell, CEO and Board member of the Burning Man Project, was released that explained a little more about why this is such a huge loss for the community at large. In 1990, it moved to the remote Nevada desert and began to grow rapidly.
Harvey is remembered by friends and family on the Burning Man website as someone who "lit a flame that in turn drew these free spirits to him", and for manifesting one of the greatest legacies of counterculture to ever come out of San Francisco.
At the celebration's conclusion, a towering wooden effigy is burned to the ground.
Harvey established the now-famous Burning Man celebration in 1986. "A network of dreamers and doers", is how the gathering is described on Burning Man's website. "And he said, 'Can you say that again?' And I did and we did it". At the center of this temporary but virtual metropolis is the Burning Man itself, a 40-foot-tall wooden structure outlined in neon and stuffed with fireworks that's set afire in the festival's climax.
A Judge Just Dismissed Paul Manafort's Lawsuit Challenging Mueller's Appointment
Manafort's decision to bring the civil case in DC appeared to be a long-shot attempt to invalidate Mueller's investigation. She noted in her ruling Friday that her opinion on this lawsuit shouldn't be read as her opinion in the criminal case.

Saudi citizen killed in Houthi missile attack
Yemen's Shiite rebels say they've fired eight ballistic missiles at targets in Saudi Arabia's southern metropolis of Jizan. Yemeni forces regularly fire ballistic missile at positions inside Saudi Arabia in retaliation for the Riyadh-led campaign.
Sometimes the event would get out of hand. The idea behind Burning Man was to commemorate the beginning of the summer solstice. In 1996, a man died after his motorcycle crashed into a van of festival-goers, and three others were injured in a separate incident involving a drunk driver, the AP reports.
It wasn't until afterward, Harvey recalled, that he had the epiphany that led to Burning Man.
Mr Harvey, who had the title Chief Philosophical Officer, spoke to the BBC in 2016 about how the festival came to be.
In spite of his apparent success he never gave up his tiny one-bedroom rent-controlled apartment in the Alamo Square section of San Francisco, where he lived alone until the end of his life.
Some critics often likened Harvey to guru leading a cult, though he resisted that depiction. He was 100 percent authentic to his core.
