As of Thursday (April 12) this week, the former WWE world heavyweight champion had not yet agreed to terms on a new contract with WWE, but both sides are said to still be in negotiations for a deal.
We got superstars Rusev and Lana just hours after WWE announced Undertaker vs. Rusev at their "Greatest Royal Rumble" event in Saudi Arabia. and the power couple told us Taker's about to take his last ride in the ring. While this hurts the Rusev Day festivities, WWE instead made a decision to have The Undertaker face Chris Jericho on April 27. In reality, while I love Rusev and The Undertaker and feel the two would put out a good match, it was kind of a random pairing.
Here is a video of TMZ Sports catching up with Lana and Rusev for comments about the upcoming match.
Rusev was the man originally scheduled to grapple the legend, but now WWE chiefs have secured free agent Jericho's services.
So it appears, for now at least, that Rusev Day isn't going to be a thing of the past in the WWE anytime soon. They simply decided Jericho vs Undertaker would be a better match even though they announced Rusev vs Undertaker before they came to that conclusion.

"I'll beat him so bad, maybe it's his last fight, yeah".
Instead, Chris Jericho, who was initially expected to compete in the first ever 50-Man Royal Rumble Match, will step in.
