Wednesday morning's commute could be a slick one for much of MI as today's storm system continues to work its way across the Great Lakes, ramping up with more snow overnight.

Though the snow totals are much lower than several of the systems we've dealt with this winter, forecasters wrote in an online discussion that there's "some concern this'll catch folks off guard". The most likely threats this far South seem to be gusting winds and pockets of heavy rain as the "squall line" moves through, and at the moment tornadoes seem unlikely but not impossible.
Hold on to your hat, wind gusts of 35 miles per hour are expected. These winds will persist on Friday and keep conditions quite cold. Right now it looks like an area of low pressure will arrive on Saturday.
