A busy day in Green Bay as according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Packers are signing Tight End Jimmy Graham and ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the team with will cut Jordy Nelson. With the Seahawks, Graham posted 18 total touchdowns (10 coming last season) and 2,048 receiving yards. Green Bay has struggled in signing big-name free-agent tight ends the past two seasons, but maybe the third time is the charm with Graham. The specifics of the contract have not been disclosed, and the move can not become official until Wednesday afternoon and the start of the new league year.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy has always believed that his offense is most effective when it has an athletic tight end who can work the middle of the field, as Jermichael Finley and Jared Cook have in the past and as Bennett was supposed to do last season. The club also acquired QB Deshone Kizer from the Cleveland Browns in a trade last week. He caught 122 passes in his senior year for 1,606 yards and 11 touchdowns. But, they may not be moves fans are expecting.
