Australian guests aboard the ship, which was due to dock in Melbourne, its home port, earlier this year, have claimed that there was more than one clash involving two groups of roughly 30 belligerent passengers, who went as far as threatening to stab each other and toss each other into the sea.
Carnival Cruise Line says they were forced to call police to "remove a family group of passengers".
Footage of Friday's brawl shows security officials kicking at passengers grappling on the ground amid screams.
A woman on vacation with her family says certain passengers "looking for trouble" were responsible for fights seen over several days.

NSW police said they were investigating a fight between several men onboard the cruise ship which occurred while it was about 220 kilometres off the coast of Jervis Bay.
One horrified holidaymaker told Nine News they are genuinely frightened of the offending guests and are hesitant to leave the safety of their room.
"He rang me about 1am this morning and said, "please dad, please dad, call the federal police", Mr Barkho told 3AW.

David Barkho told the station that his son was on the ship and desperately called him at 1 a.m. asking for help.
A passenger identified only as Naomi said: "There are about 20 of the family, older people, teenagers and young kids with them".
"About 7am today, officers attached to Marine Area Command received reports of people fighting on board a cruise ship", the spokeswoman said.
She also said members of the family were involved in other incidents during the cruise, but declined to elaborate.
"A number of people are expected to be removed with assistance from the operational support group".
One woman yelled that she had been mistreated as she was being removed after what fellow passengers complained had been days of mayhem and violence.
Carnival Cruise Line Australia president Sture Myrmell and general manager Jennifer Vandekreek speak to the media about the brawl in Sydney on Friday.
"We apply a zero-tolerance approach to excessive behaviour that affects other guests".
"The ship's highly-trained security staff have taken strong action in relation to a small group of disruptive guests who have been involved in altercations on board", a statement said.
