Super Bowl LII represents Timberlake's first proper headliner turn in this realm, so expect his performance in downtown Minneapolis to serve as something of a retrospective celebration of a performer who - like the star quarterback in the same building - has seemingly defeated Father Time. He said speed runs in his family and offered a message to Patriots coach Bill Belichick: "If all of your receivers go down, shoot me a text". "So, that's my main objective with the halftime show". I always like to push to be able to do something like that. "That has been the ethos of the inspiration behind putting the set list together and managing the visuals and how it all sort of comes together".
"And, you know, I like to make dance music", he continued.
Timberlake called Prince "the greatest all-around musician I can think of in popular culture". "So, I hope everyone's dancing". Guests on the album include the accoladed country songwriter Chris Stapleton who brings rolling guitar licks to "Say Something". Who could forget how JT accidentally exposed one of Janet Jackson's breasts in what's now known as "Nipplegate?".
During a recent press conference, Timberlake reportedly nixed the idea, and added that only his band The Tennessee Kids would be joining him on stage.
"I had my wires crossed, and it's just something that you have to look back on and go, like, 'OK, well, you know, you can't change what's happened but you can move forward and learn from it, ' " he continued.
Bon-Ton at Stroud Mall Closing
Judith Fox from Stroudsburg has been shopping at this Bon-Ton at the Stroud Mall near Stroudsburg for as long as she can remember. They are the only two Iowa stores scheduled to close. "The mall still has dozens and dozens of retailers", he said.
Once again, the New England Patriots, better known as the Floyd Mayweather of the National Football League, are back in the big game, with Tom Brady's 1,000-lumens-bright smile and fear of tomatoes and peppers likely leading them to another championship.
Tom Brady came up several times and Timberlake complimented his coif more than once: "He has great hair, though, don't you agree?" "I said, 'Honey, it's hard to do that with spinal stenosis'".
As ET previously reported, the singer is taking preparations for the show very seriously.
A source told ET last month that Timberlake is spending an average of eight to 10 hours a day in rehearsals in preparation for the performance.
The next two Super Bowls featured perceived safer performers, rock legends Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones, as well as a five-second delay on the live broadcast to safeguard wholesome values.
