In the NY area, the Sears located in Hicksville, on Long Island, is expected to close, as well as one in Toms River, New Jersey.
In a statement issued on the company's website, Sears Holdings plans to close another 100 stores after shuttering dozens in 2017.
The Plattsburgh location has been deemed unprofitable by corporate headquarters, who announced on Thursday the closure of 64 Kmart stores and 39 Sears locations between March and early April.
The decline of Sears Holdings has been swift in recent years.
Liquidation sales will begin as early as January 12 at the dozens of stores across the country. The rise of e-commerce competition is cited as a major cause of the scaled-down operations.
