Washington, Dec 7 The US House of Representatives overwhelmingly rejected a congressman's motion today to impeach President Trump, as Democratic Party leaders argued that now was not the time to pursue the effort.
House Democratic leaders aren't in favor of pushing impeachment at this point as they seek to win back the majority next year.
"Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment", they wrote in a statement. Republicans are expected to offer a motion to table the resolution later Wednesday, effectively killing Green's resolution.

Lawmakers voted 364 to 58 in rejection of liberal Democrat Al Green's resolution to begin impeachment proceedings against the Republican president.
The impeachment resolution Green circulated Tuesday does not include any allegations of obstruction of justice or other alleged crimes connected to his 2016 presidential campaign or the pending investigations into connections to Russian Federation. Green also charges Trump with "sowing discord" among the American people.
