Arab media reports said Israel fired missiles at a military base Iran has been building near the Syrian city of al-Qiswa, reportedly destroying an arms depot. However, reports from Lebanon's Al-Mustaqbal TV and the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya network stated that information on the deaths emerged from accounts on the Telegram messaging application linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Some videos that emerged on social media are claiming to show the moment when the Israeli missiles were intercepted by Syrian Air Defense. There has been no official Israeli comment on the attack, however, the message is clear, that Iranian bases will not be tolerated, as senior officials in Israel have stated.
Pro-government forces in Syria managed to intercept two of the missiles, Syrian's state-run SANA news agency reported.
Israel has grown deeply alarmed by Iran's expanding clout during the conflict, and has warned it would act against any threat from its regional foe Tehran.
