Being an entry-level smartphone, Xiaomi doesn't compromise in offering essential features. Jio has introduced this special monthly plan for Redmi 5A users at ₹199.
Last week, Xiaomi detailed plans to launch a phone that's going to be the biggest surprise in the Indian smartphone industry. A microSD card slot is given for expandable storage. This year's model, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with MIUI 8.5 on board, which means that its operating system is based on Android Nougat, not on the Marshmallow.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is priced at Rs 4,999 for the base 2GB RAM variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM variant. The variant including 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage will have a higher price. On the front, it has a 5MP camera which comes with f/2.0 aperture. The other variant of this device will offer a 32 GB storage coupled with 3 GB RAM retailed at ₹6,999. To avail the new offer, Redmi 5A users need to continue to recharge their accounts with the Rs 199 pack for 12 months to get the cashback. The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will sport rather thin bezels, at least compared to their predecessors, and both phones will ship with a rounded display.

Civilization 6 Expansion Braces for 'Rise and Fall'
Over the course of Sid Meier's Civilization VI , many empires try to rise, but only one can truly stand the test of time. This is reflected in Emergency Situations, a new system that triggers when one player takes too much of a lead.
The Redmi 5A is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery underneath, which is actually lesser than 3,120 mAh found on the Redmi 4A but sufficient for what should be a day long battery life.
While the Redmi 5A is officially priced at Rs 5999 for the 2GB/16GB variant, Xiaomi has chose to grant a Rs 1000 discount to the first 5 million buyers. The media invite sent out by the company features a flash icon in the middle, which hints at the possibility of fast charging support being included as well.
The phone will be available in three colours: Cherry Powder, Champagne Gold and Platinum Silver.
In the photography department, the Redmi 4A offers a 13-megapixel rear snapper with f/2.2 aperture and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF).
