It's been more than twelve months since Civilization VI was released and we've been expecting news of an expansion to drop for a while now and today Rise and Fall was finally announced. For instance, if you're a prosperous civilization you'll find yourself in the middle of a Golden Age. This expansion brings a lot with it, including nine new leaders, eight new civilizations, new units, buildings, improvements, districts, and wonders. Over the course of Sid Meier's Civilization VI, many empires try to rise, but only one can truly stand the test of time.
Your civilization in this expansion will reach Historic Moments as it grows and expands, which will then translate into Dark Ages and Golden Ages, offering special bonuses and augments depending on how you choose to proceed. There is also a new city loyalty system and the diplomatic and governmental options have been furthered.
Released in October of previous year, Civilization VI is the latest in the grand legacy of Sid Meier's Civilization, one of the greatest and longest-running simulation series of all time. These are just some of the new features being added to the expansion. "Respond well to the challenges of a Dark Age, and your civilisation can rise again into renewal with a Heroic Age". You'll even be able to recruit and appoint Governors. But one civilization's loss can be your gain as you inspire Loyalty among cities throughout the map and further expand your borders. Growing too powerful could trigger an Emergency as civs can band together against you, potentially earning you rewards or penalties when the Emergency ends. This is reflected in Emergency Situations, a new system that triggers when one player takes too much of a lead.
