Sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran said on Thursday that his faction would move the Supreme Court against the Election Commission's ruling allotting the two-leaves symbol to the unified AIADMK led by Chief Minister K Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam.
The EPS-OPS and the Sasikala-Dhinakaran factions had been fighting to win back the two leaves symbol of the AIADMK, which was suspended following the split in the party post the death of party supremo J Jayalalithaa previous year. We will approach the Supreme Court. There can be "no better example to show that the Election Commission did not act neutrally in the matter", he charged. It is being said that the OPS-EPS led faction has been deemed as the "original AIADMK".
EC had frozen the AIADMK party name and its symbol after the Rival factions then led by Sasikala and Panneerselvam had staked claim.
"EC has given judgement in our favour, we are very happy. Majority of party workers supported us", Tamil Nadu chief minister added.
Without considering this, the EC was "keen" on blocking the symbol.
As the political infighting intensified, the two factions have been desperate to prove themselves to be Jaya's heir, and the two leaves symbol case has had a lot of importance in this journey.

Christmas tree shortage may cause price hike
The final day depends on how many trees are left to be picked, but a good rule of thumb would be before December 20. You can view the trees on display from now until November 25th from 9 am to 5 pm, excluding Thanksgiving day.
The EC stated that it had recognised the Palaniswami-Panneerselvam faction as the real AIADMK and granted it the symbol as it had been found to be enjoying the support of a majority of members, both in the organisational and legislature wings of the party.
Dinakaran said they would fight legally and "victory will be ours... party cadres and people are with us".
The order is a clear setback for Ms Sasikala and her nephew and deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran.
Later, the Panneerselvam and Palaniswami factions merged, annulled the appointment of Sasikala as the General Secretary and struck down the appointments made by her before she went to jail for corruption.
The EC eventually decided that neither of the two factions of the AIADMK would be allowed to use the party name or symbol in the by-elections till the case was disposed of.
