Special prosecutor Robert Mueller is examining a meeting Flynn had with senior Turkish officials weeks after Donald Trump won the presidential race previous year, NBC News and the Wall Street Journal reported.
Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating Russian manipulation of the 2016 USA election, has already indicted Trump's former campaign manager and another senior fundraiser on charges including money laundering and a former foreign policy adviser has pleaded guilty to perjury.
Flynn, who is President Trump's former national security adviser, and his son Michael Flynn Jr. were allegedly were involved in a plan to deliver Fethullah Gulen to the Turkish government, which views Gulen as a political enemy and has pressed the us for his extradition, The Journal reported. According to the sources, Mr Mueller recently interviewed witnesses over last December's meeting between the Turkish officials and Mr Flynn at the swanky 21 Club in New York City.
But a new report in today's Wall Street Journal should rock the Trump administration, if not the president himself, because it deals with post-election conduct that may have continued even after the inauguration.
He is now the center of criminal, military and congressional investigations that seek to unearth a possible connection between that and his decisions while he was the president's adviser. Former CIA director James Woolsey earlier told media that Flynn met with Turkish government officials in September 2016 to forcedly send Gulen back to Turkey.

Apple software update fixes iOS 11.1 autocorrect bug
Developers in the USA reportedly saw the the Apple Pay Cash option appear in the Messages app on the iOS 11 .2 beta this week. Not only did the bug frustrate many people, some complained on social media that Apple was taking too long to fix the issue.
According to the two reports, the discussions included details of how Gulen, a Muslim cleric who lives in Pennsylvania and has a large Turkish following, could be flown secretly by private jet to the isolated Turkish prison island of Imrali.
Flynn was allegedly offered upwards of $15 million to close the deal successfully.
NBC News also reports this morning that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has taken an interest in the alleged December 2016 meeting as part of "a line of inquiry regarding Flynn's lobbying efforts on behalf of Turkey". The White House has distanced itself from the men charged by Mueller - Papadopoulos, former campaign manager Paul Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates.
That period is a grey area when it comes to paid work for foreign interests, but if the arrangement was carried through past inauguration in January, Flynn could face bribery charges on top of questions of whether the NY conversations represented a conspiracy to carry out a forced extra-judicial rendition of a legal USA resident.
Flynn also allegedly discussed helping to free Reza Zarrab, a Turkish-Iranian gold trader who now faces federal charges for his assistance to Iran in skirting United States sanctions. Nor did the attorney representing the elder Flynn, Robert Kelner.
Flynn, a retired lieutenant general who was previously head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, became the White House national security advisor after Trump took office on January 20, 2017.
